A Little Breeze

A little breeze stirs in a faraway land,
Barely a  whisper is how it began.

Over the rocks, and out to sea,
The promise of life for this little breeze.

With the warmth of the sun, and a kiss from the ocean,
This little breeze took a counter-clock motion.

Faster and Faster turned this little breeze,
The mighty ocean nurtured all of it's needs.

With a deepening low at the center of mass,
This little breeze was a storm at last.

Across the ocean roamed the now mighty wind,
With the noise of the thunder, and a fury within.

Death and Destruction and rampant disease,
Is the legacy left from the once little breeze.

With the carnage now over and nothing to stand,
A Little Breeze stirs in a far away land.

Caleigh

The beauty of dawn
The stillness of night.

The gleam of the stars,
The kiss of moonlight.

Tears from the ocean
The scent from the rose.

The glint of her eyes
And her cute little nose.

She's the essence of wonder,
Right from the start.

Immortality for me,
With each beat of her heart.

A beautiful smile,
With each tooth like a pearl.

The window to Heaven,
Is this little girl.

The Road To Skaneateles
(Skinny Atlas)

There's a load to Skaneateles
I heard the dispatcher say.

We've got to get the sand to them
So they can make the clay.

The sand picks up in Berkeley Springs,
Just a few miles down the road.

There's forty-two thousand pounds of dust,
And that's a heavy load.

Skaneateles? "Is this a joke?",
I whispered to a friend.

"No, he said, It's in New York,
And it's at the world's end.

With the load on board I headed North
With something on my mind.

Skaneateles? Skaneateles!
I wonder what I’ll find.

The farther North I went
The darker the skies became

Thickening clouds, fog and wind,
And finally the rain.

Through the mist I saw a light
in the window of a house

A portrait hung upon the wall
 Of someone's long dead spouse.

The road was narrow And hills were steep
As through the forest I drove

The turns were sharp, and the Shadows deep
As I entered into the cove.

I turned off my truck and locked my doors
And finally went to sleep.

When morning came the rain had gone
And the sky was an azure hue

There before my eyes was a beautiful lake
With water deep and blue.

The birds were chirping in the oaks
And squirrels played in the mist.

I had found the door to paradise
In Skaneateles.

WORDS

Too often in life words are spoken-
And at the time are thought to be true.

Words such as "I promise, I will, I do-
And Yes, I’ll always love you.

We give these words such names-
When they turn out not to be true-

We call them fibs, and fopahs-
And sometimes even snafu’s.

But there were words I uttered to you
Over three decade’s ago-

I’ll say them to you all over again-
Because I want you to know.

But the words that meant the most to me
That were said with all my heart?

"I will love you completely my dear Nan-
Until death us do  part".
